Know your government. Those three words were shared by attorney Eddie Felling with CEO and junior applicants that joined the class today.
Eddie Felling, with Lind & Felling Law Firm, asked students who the mayor was. He was pleased to know they had met with Mayor Brandon Sakbun already. CEO has also met with county commissioners Mark Clinkenbeard, Chris Switzer, and Mike Morris; Indiana Sec. of State Diego Morales; and Senator Greg Goode. The Vigo County Board of Health earlier this year shared procedures and requirements when handling food and hosting events. Eddie Felling said those and other ordinances are crucial in running a business in compliance with government policies.
Eddie shared that zoning, insurance coverage, contract language, LLC's, and worker's comprehension all impact business. Eddie served as city lawyer for Mayor Duke Bennett's administration. Eddie shared the responsibilities and duties he had in that role as well.
