Vigo County CEO is in its 4th year. Twenty-seven students have completed the program thus far, and nine are in this year's class.
Thirty-six entrepreneurs. Thirty-six individuals who have or are learning to be resilient, passionate, adaptable, innovative, decisive, self-motivated, and visionary.
Imer Holman was in the inaugural CEO class of 2023. He shared with this year's students how he was an integral part of the class businesses, that he worked with and continues to stay in contact with his mentor, has built a strong network and continues to develop confidence.
CEO students are in the midst of their first business--the Badge Business. Familiar with the objectives and obstacles, Imer practiced "the pitch" Braiden Bruce was working on to secure an advertising partnership with a local business he has contacted. Imer demonstrated the handshake, eye contact, being prepared, and knowing your audience.
"Always know you belong in every room," Imer explained, not trying to sound prideful or haughty. He said that he just wanted to build the students' confidence by teaching them that they have value everywhere they go.
He urged them all to go into a pitch thinking, "I know how I know you. Now, I'm going to show why you should know me." That makes the value proposition of anything you're selling much greater, he said.
Imer also showed students how to utilize his network by helping the students get their foot in the door with several businesses with a phone call.
