Dallas Wilson said a skill needed to run a business successfully is the ability to adapt to a situation. Having plans is great, but life and business can change those plans very quickly. To be able to hit your goal, he said, you may need to pivot.
Dallas came to Terre Haute to attend Indiana State University. Pursuing various interests had him exploring chemistry, education, sports and media studies. He plugged into several organizations and non-profits to find where he truly wanted to be. In all of those endeavors, Dallas met many people whom he would engage with later in business.
"The most important part of business is networking," he said.
Dallas also shared with CEO what "Inbound Marketing" is. IM is used often in his business--helping his clients spread the word of what their business is and offers customers. He explained how the goal is to move someone from being a
Stranger--->to a Prospect--->to a Customer---> and ultimately a Promoter of your business.
Once you attract someone's attention, you try to engage with them and hope they will be so delighted with your product or service, they will become a cheerleader for you.
Dallas has served as a CEO mentor and continues to serve after students have left the program. Thank you, Dallas, for your engagement and support.
