After CEO, what's next? It wasn't long after completing the CEO program that alum Andrieli Dos Santos (Class of 2025) began looking for the next opportunity in business. Andrieli is from Brazil and will be returning in a few weeks. However, she shared with CEO students that she couldn't just sit around all summer and wait. She had to find something. Knowing that she is both fluent in Portuguese and English, Andrieli discovered Preply, an online tutoring system that students can use to gain skills in over 100 subjects.
Andrieli explained how she put her CEO skills to work to secure an independent contractor job as a tutor--where she could set her own rates, schedule, and workload. It seemed an ideal fit. But, she soon realized that she wasn't attracting the number of students she wanted. So, she looked at her marketing. Andrieli added a bio on her Preply profile, included a video so students could hear her Brazilian accent, and she lowered her prices. What really impacted her enrollment was adding her CEO Completion Certificate. Business grew. She shared that she now makes 3 times more than minimum wage in Brazil and averages 30 students.
Andrieli shared much of what she had gained from CEO and how she grew personally. She not only has gained a business vocabulary, she has also grown to appreciate AI (Artificial Intelligence), can deliver a business pitch, and can recognize a business opportunity when she looks around.
In CEO, Andrieli also learned to be more empathetic, now understands her own strengths and weaknesses, and tries to understand her audience.
Though she is wrapping up her CEO individual business--Instant Glam--Andrieli takes the skills that she learned from running that business with her wherever she is in the world.
