Attorney Eddie Felling proudly shares he has a daughter in the same classroom he sat in at Lost Creek Elementary. As a product of the Vigo County School Corporation, he feels compelled to be involved in the corporation's plans for the future of her schools in the community.
Eddie shared his life's journey with CEO students proving that "Life Ain't No Laser Beam." Eddie attended DePauw University and majored in religious studies. After graduation, he was interested in working for the State Department. until an opening two years later in Terre Haute arose--being city attorney for Mayor Duke Bennett's administration. Eddie said, that may have been one of the most beneficial directions his career could have spun.
As the city's attorney for almost 10 years, Eddie worked in zoning, abatements, ordinances, bonds, and managing the legalities of over 500 city employees.
After completing their class business and starting individual ones, CEO students were intrigued by his thoughts on contract law and comingling of personal and business funds. This year, students have become learned by experience in both.
As legal counsel to his clients, Eddie offers valuable guidance. Gold nuggets of advice he gave CEO was:
--Know your local government leaders
--Be a part of what's happening in your community
--Keep personal and business accounts separate
